Album Review: Tears For Fears - The Tripping Point

Image
The Tripping Point  is the seventh studio full-length album by the English band Tears For Fears, It was released on February 25, 2022.  Tears for Fears is not a band I thought I would be listening to new material from, but they deliver a record that is a masterful example of balancing assimilation of modern techniques and trends into their music and maintenance of their original synth-pop 80’s style. As a fan of their classic albums and especially their hot singles from then, some of which remain to be some of the greatest pop hits of modern music, I enjoy that this album preserves their original sound whilst taking advantage of new technologies. Usually, when artists of their period release new music, it sounds extremely dated. This album breaks away from that and is both refreshing and nostalgic. I rate this album 8/10. Album Review: Beach House - Once Twice Melody

Image
Once Twice Melody is the eighth studio full length album by dream pop group Beach House, it was released on February 18, 2022.  "Once Twice Melody" remains the most ambitious project of the duo so far, but it comes at the right time, showing all the experience and mastery of Beach House. it's a little overwhelming, but these two have brought their all in this nearly an hour and a half of dreamy psychedelia. It's so entrancing and hypnotizing, with gorgeous production and performances all around, and such melancholic and beautiful songwriting. Feels like the sun peaking through an overcast sky, shining right on you.    the duo's ability to execute their sound to the absolute maximum without sacrificing variation. In my opinion, Once Twice Melody's ambition paid off. It feels like I've known this album for as long as my brain is able to remember. What even was I doing when they first announced this album would be coming out? I try so hard to catch wind of it

Album Review: Snoop Dogg - BODR

Image
BODR is the nineteenth studio full-length album by West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg. It was released on February 11, 2022,  Damn what a vibe to listen to.  Snoop does it again and giving us good vibes and good music. the collaboration  was soild and the beat selection is good as well.  Snoop Dogg did a good job keeping his flow for years and still got it.  This seriously sounds like some G Funk straight out of the early 1990s,  acquires his former label, Death Row Records, and is inspired to make his most consistent album since his debut way back in 1993.  There isn't much to analyze about this album so I'm gonna keep it short. This is Snoop's best album in a long time and it's great to see him return. The features are not spread well at all and the front end definitely carries the album in my opinion. I also didn't like all the lines about the cryptocurrency but I mean what should've I expected. Anyways, just listening to the whole album is something special. I rat

Album Review: Jethro Tull - The Zealot Gene

Image
The Zealot Gene  is the 22nd full-length studio album by the British Progressive rock band, Jethro Tull,  Musically, the album is broken up with hard flute driven rockers with subtly intriguing melodies and hooks that seem to sneak up on you.   The mixing and production is impeccable. The sound quality is first-rate. The playing is great, the arrangements are very good, and Ian's vocals sound very good on these songs, which obviously don't stretch his vocal limitations. Great songs with great lyrics.  I   wasn't expecting much from this and was pleasantly surprised with this new release, While it won't remind many of vintage Tull, it's probably Ian's best work since the Aqualung  album.  For a band that has been working in one form or another for 50-plus years, this album is a late career gem. Much better than I ever thought it could be. I rate this album 8/10, Solid score.

Album Review: The Weeknd- Dawn FM

Image
Dawn FM is the fifth studio full-length album by Canadian singer The Weeknd, it was released on January 7, 2022, Dawn Fm is the direct sequel to After Hours. For the occasion, The Weeknd supports his achievements by transcribing it in a concept as ambitious as interesting, which confirms his status of master of the Synthpop mainstream. Here we are, the famous introduction to announce the new year that we never get tired of. So I'll go straight to the point: happy new year to all, full of achievements and happiness. Finally, what could be better than to start the year with a kind of last-minute surprise,  as usual, there are some songs I absolutely love and others that are a miss for me. I  Haven’t stopped listening to this album since the day it was released, it truly is a masterpiece. Been following him for the past decade and I’m so proud of how far he’s come and evolved throughout every era. I rate this album 9/10 The Weeknd · Dawn FM

Album Review: Silk Sonic - An Evening with Silk Sonic

Image
An Evening with Silk Sonic is the debut studio record by American R&B duo Silk Sonic,  it was released on November 12, 2021. T ake an era of soul music and influence their music around it, with the peanut butter and jelly chemistry between Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak only taking the album to a whole new level.  Stellar,  To be completely honest this record was destined to be incredible just from the 3 phenomenal singles, but the album cuts really caught me off guard. Front to back "An Evening with Silk Sonic" is a fantastic throwback nostalgic journey,  This is a collab for the history books. The chemistry between Bruno and Anderson is just unbelievable! They complement each other perfectly over transcendent production and produce a true Smooth Soul Pop experience.  This album is everything I wanted it to be and more. I'm utterly impressed with everything here. They managed to put together an amazing body of work without ever overshadowing one another. Hope we hear m

Album Review: Riki - Gold

Image
Gold is the second full-length album by American musician Riki, it was released on November 26, 2021, New romantic Musician Riki returned with a new record,  Riki creates an evocative mood-piece that taps into all those most elegant and effortlessly 'cool' of 80s pop sounds; at once slow-dancing in a grand costume party.  meet sophisti/new-romantic flourishes so moody.  I don't see how this lacks 'spirit', many tracks are pretty wistful. she's just got a subtle and sometimes elusive presence/approach with the vocals,  I can find a few positives about every album I listen to, but nothing comes to mind here. The best songs are the tolerable ones, and that's all you'll find of value here. and w ith her cover of a decades-old Spanish hit, she invokes the ghost of a forgotten pop idol ('Porque te vas'). Solid mature songwriting,  overall  this album got a really nice  nostalgic vintage production and I rate this record 8/10 solid album. Gold by Riki
