Album Review: Angel Olsen - Aisles

Aisles is a brand new ep by American singer Angel Olsen, it was released on August 20, 2021. ‘Aisles’ continues this direction, taking on a concatenation of covers of ’80s classic, is a simple concept, executed spectacularly. Olsen knows how to style herself into any specific era, 'Aisles' proves once again the powerhouse that she is as an artist, the versatility, the ability to adapt to pretty much any genre (it's a talent only a few have). Honestly, I loved her take in these iconic 80's songs, she made them even more dramatic if that's even possible, I love this woman to death. A fun, half-serious collection that turns the tunes into more experimental, artful versions of their former selves, and I have to say, I'm loving the result.  but they're good enough for me to say a couple of them are some of the greatest covers in recent years: "If You Leave" has some gorgeous arrangements, while "Forever Young"'s vocals are extraordinarily beautiful. If the rest of Olsen's project has the same vision, personality, creativity, and coolness as this EP, this woman could end up being one of my favorite female artists of the 2010s. I rate this album 10/10.Angel Olsen: Aisles EP Album Review | Pitchfork
