Album Review: Tears For Fears - The Tripping Point

The Tripping Point is the seventh studio full-length album by the English band Tears For Fears, It was released on February 25, 2022. Tears for Fears is not a band I thought I would be listening to new material from, but they deliver a record that is a masterful example of balancing assimilation of modern techniques and trends into their music and maintenance of their original synth-pop 80’s style. As a fan of their classic albums and especially their hot singles from then, some of which remain to be some of the greatest pop hits of modern music, I enjoy that this album preserves their original sound whilst taking advantage of new technologies. Usually, when artists of their period release new music, it sounds extremely dated. This album breaks away from that and is both refreshing and nostalgic. I rate this album 8/10.
