Album Review: Molchat Doma - Monument

Monument is the third full-length studio album by Belarusian post-punk band Molchat Doma. it was released on November 13, 2020. It was recorded in their hometown of Minsk, Belarus in the midst of the Covid-19 global pandemic which caused the cancelation of their 2020 tour. I love how each song in this has its own memorable tune to it and it's just a beautiful experience listening to it. and you can just tell how much effort and passion there is in them. It stands at the intersection of post-punk, new-wave, and synth-pop. Dark yet danceable, and with a substantial dose of goth quintessence, their music is reminiscent of the masters that predate them, but make no mistake: Molchat Doma creates a sound and meaning that is immediately recognizable as all their own. Every album hits me differently. this album is special you can really hear 80s revival influence, Another legendry masterpiece is rising, their greatest strength has always been their songwriting, and they’ve only gotten better. I rate this album 10/10.
