Fate in Seven Lessons is the third studio full-length album by American synthpop darkwave band Cold Cave, It was released on June 11, 2021. this is Cold Cave's version of Power, Corruption & Lies, and the New Order comparisons don't stop there, with the second track "Night Light" sounding very much like New Order's "Temptation" (even though that was a single released prior and did not appear on the album). the gorgeous album cover evokes Peter Saville's beautifully rendered cover from 1983. Wesley Eisold carries the weight of the vocals here, but the "other" Amy Lee still lurks about on some of the tracks. there is a 1980s nostalgic air to these songs and Eisold is clearly reaching back to his roots in celebration. if you know these sounds and where they are coming from, you'll get the intentions here. 2019 smash hit single "Promised Land" serves as the closer and it is an excellent choice to give this powerful track ho...

In Standard Definition is the second studio full-length album by American glam rock band Art D'Ecco, it was released on April 23, 2021, Glam rock certainly feels like it should have a massive revival movement happening any day now. We've already got plenty of artists revitalizing soft rock and neo-disco to show for the era, after all. I found this really nice but otherwise forgettable–aside from I Am The Dancefloor, which feels like the title of a song that should have existed decades ago, and it's really good, There's nothing wrong with making a glam-rock record in 2021. Making the altar of Bowie and Bolan sound brilliant . This is a genre of excitement and bombast. Bowie, T-Rex with a new romantic flavor and h as a very timeless vintage feel but feels modern too. In Standard Definition is possibly going to be far too eerie an album for some audience , but those that are curious about what d’Ecco has to offer should definitely go on this ...

In the most literal sense globally renowned whistler Molly Lewis makes her gorgeous and curious compositions out of thin air. New entrees into the Exotica canon sprawling would-be Spaghetti Western scores and a dash of Old Hollywood glamour , imagine you are in a different era, walking into a jazz club sitting at a table near the stage as the spotlight shines on the wonderful female Exotica Lounge jazz performer, her skin smooth as silk and her dress adorned with crystals shimmering like a crystal ball as she whistles to your ears with a band at the back playing the instruments with seductive alternative jazz music. that's what i see listening to this EP. it depicts film noir into music and her whistles and soft vocals in the back are dainty and captivating, backed by a wonderful instrumental that are just elegant and dazzling. it's kind of a great EP to just p...

Jubilee is the third studio full-length album by Indie pop band Japanese Breakfast, It was released on June 4, 2021, This album is amazing, it transcended my expectations. something that is simultaneously catchy and weird and beautiful and funky and challenging to listen to. Daddy's Home is the sixth studio full-length album by American artist St. Vincent, it was released on May 14, 2021. Daddy’s Home may lack the more exhilarating, guitar-shredding moments of some of Clark’s earlier work, but it’s possibly her best, most considered modern album to date. Daddy’s Home feels like a complex yet real moment for St. Vincent. Consistently captivating, it gazes into the future but through an authentic homage to the alt-funk and psychedelic soul of the 1970's. Alpha is the debut studio full-length album by Canadian singer Charlotte Day Wilson, It was released on July 9, 2021. this was probably my most highly anticipated record of the year. there is truly something so special about charlotte day wilson's voice/tone and the mood she sets. for some reason, 'alpha' ended up missing the mark for me. maybe I was expecting too much...but I really thought there would be some more interesting things happening. perhaps it will grow on me, After having worked with artists like BadBadNotGood and Daniel Caesar, Canadian singer, songwriter and producer Charlotte Day Wilson come through with a very promising debut in ALPHA. Aisles is a brand new ep by American singer Angel Olsen, it was released on August 20, 2021. ‘Aisles’ continues this direction, taking on a concatenation of covers of ’80s classic, is a simple concept, executed spectacularly. Olsen knows how to style herself into any specific era, 'Aisles' proves once again the powerhouse that she is as an artist, the versatility, the ability to adapt to pretty much any genre (it's a talent only a few have). Honestly, I loved her take in these iconic 80's songs, she made them even more dramatic if that's even possible, I love this woman to death. Mutator is a new p osthumous solo album by Suicide Alan Vega, recorded between 1996 and 1998, it was released on April 23, 2021. Alan Vega was a free spirit, a kind of massive creativity, unrestricted from the late 1950s to the years as part of Suicide, and until his death in 2016, at 78, he was always composing. That process resulted in a lot of material that did not see the light, and which became known as "the Vega Vault". Vega was characterized by being very prolific, many of his works were recorded even without prospects of being published one day. "Mutator" will be the first album. in a series of unreleased releases of files written and recorded by Alan Vega himself. Soon after, they mixed and produced the songs with his friend Jared Artaud, Vega's confidante. New ministry album, Moral Hygiene is the fifteenth full-length studio album by the American I ndustrial Metal band Ministry , it was released on October 1, 2021. But I think that is an unrealistic expectation for Ministry. Al has always been in your face, and as much as the truth of current events is shocking, Al is there; in a shocking way. While defiance has become common place in the world, in the 1980's "In case you didn't feel like showing up - live" Al was screaming lyrics people wouldn't dare say. I can appreciate the eclectic mix of sounds familiar to Ministry of old while hearing him in his age not be afraid to let each track have an identity. He has always called people to question authority, in this album, it is almost over; as he cries "get ready to die" I can't help but feel his challenge the youth to clean it up.
