Album Review: Kit Sebastian - Melodi

Melodi is the second full-length studio album from alternative duo Kit Sebastian, it was released on October 1, 2020. Great album! Incredible production and execution. On rotation since yesterday. it has a vintage throwback sound while plunging to it's musical roots in modern age psychedelic pop. It will instantly recognize their unique concept that softens the extremities of world music, jazz, and psychedelia. but it is not a nostalgic admiration. It salutes its main impact but is very much a modern contemporary record, being simultaneously brand new and retro. This is a credit to the duo’s craft as musicians and songwriters, presenting their influences as a circular interaction between the present and the past rather than a linear one. The album explores universal themes such as love, loss, language, and ideology. This expedition is powerful in musical vitamins and sustenance, but like all the best things still leaves you wanting more. Like with many of the best albums, the record seems over all too soon and has you instantly wanting to play it again. I'm looking forward to this duo to created more records. I rate this record 10/10.
