Album Review: The Killers- Imploding the Mirage
Imploding the Mirage is the sixth full-length studio album by American rock band The Killers, It was released on August 21, 2020. Imploding the Mirage is in keeping with what I expect out of a Killers album, great production, great writing, excellent musicianship, and singing. The lyrics are distillations of feeling matured into pure poetry, the music powerful in both you hear the roar and rush of the wind, There's plenty of synth, and it's clear that lead singer Brandon Flowers was influenced by U2, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and the beauty of the craggy American West landscape which the band has called home for many years now. Brandon's voice is as strong as ever, and the arrangements are outstanding. Lyrically there's plenty of love, loss, and spiritual soul-searching, as is common to most Killers records. It’s has a strong late 70s/80s new wave vibe. I rate this album solid 10/10.
