Album Review: Curtis Harding - If Words Were Flowers

If Words Were Flowers is the third studio full-length album by American soul r&b singer Curtis Harding, it was released on November 5, 2021, An underrated release of 2021. Curtis Harding’s latest effort is a really solid retro-soul record with plenty of uplifting sentiments, good hooks, and some great instrumentation. This album shines when it plays within its grounds, the straight-up soul cuts are really well made, and the more psychedelic, jazzy stuff ranges from hypnotizing to sensual, and often both at once. Spacey drum grooves are stitched together with a range of guitars, synths, and horns on these tracks to create something that’s loose enough to get lost in but interesting enough to keep everything grounded and groovy, Curtis knows how to handle everything well. An interesting combination that grows on me with each listen, Class act. I rate this album 10/10.Curtis Harding - If Words Were Flowers - Amazon.com Music
