Album Review: St. Vincent- Daddy's Home

Daddy's Home is the sixth studio full-length album by American artist St. Vincent, it was released on May 14, 2021.  Daddy’s Home  may lack the more exhilarating, guitar-shredding moments of some of Clark’s earlier work, but it’s possibly her best, most considered modern album to date.  Daddy’s Home feels like a complex yet real moment for St. Vincent. Consistently captivating, it gazes into the future but through an authentic homage to the alt-funk and psychedelic soul of the 1970's.  The lived -in, sleazy shimmer, fiery Wurlitzer and crescendos, melodies that take up rent in your mind for days on end, lyrics that personally bring us in to reflect and relate it's all a testament to St Vincent's well-realised artistic vision and musical chops.
